As 2011 draws to a close, we want to thank all our friends, family and co-workers (who generally are all one and the same) for helping to make the year such a successful one for Backseat Conceptions. We worked on a national TV show for 5 months (Paranormal Challenge), returned to the Vans Warped Tour for a 6th year with Punk Rock Holocaust 3, made a number of awesome shorts, music videos and projects that could not have been done without your support. 2012 is going to bring a lot more big projects and we’re happy to bring you all along for the ride.

Check the latest murder scene from Post-Mortem Pinups – Amanda Cupcake, who suffered a brain aneurism while at home (cooking macaroni and cheese) and then was eaten by her Chihuahua! He chose to eat her instead of the macaroni and cheese obviously. This marks the 11th Post Mortem Pinup, only one more death to finish the PMP calender! I’ve been working on this project since 2005, mainly as a hobby since I’ve been too busy to commit to collecting dead girls and then taking pictures of them. You should see the ones I didn’t have time to photograph! Regardless, the first wave will be complete soon! Buy the first set of prints now!

It happened and it was epic! Halloween season 2011 is over and it was quite a whirlwind tour! After kicking it off right doing SPFX for the feature ‘Deathly Love’ and finishing some shooting for ‘Cross Bearer’ and ‘The Cemetery’ (both of which are finally picture wrapped), I worked a few days at Pennhurst Aslyum, doing SPFX makeup and scaring the hell out of people to get in the mood.

Then I directed a segment for Angelo Moore aka Dr. Maddvibe’s new music video ‘Optimistic Yes’ which features a good and evil Angelo up against each other ripping guts out and vomiting on each other.

Then it was right into the 4th annual NYC Zombie Crawl at which Angelo performed along with our pals Nassau Chainsaw DisGraCeLand Demolition Committee and God’s Green Earth. Unfortunately the same night we found out our dear friend Spliff of DisGraCeLand had passed but it only encouraged us to rip shit up harder for him, which we did indeed.

After that I headed to Chicago for the Rise of the Stripping Dead where we performed a Zombie Fetish Sideshow edition of Strip for Pain and made up like 20 stripper zombies four nights in a row. Our friends Miss Crash and Masuimi Max did some epic performances along with new friends Mosh and Narcissister and we bled all over Chicago.

Then I flew back to NY to attend Spliff’s funeral and the DisGraceLand family sent him off right with a memorial reception at Ollie’s Point in Amityville. The it was right back to Chicago for The XXXorcist and Re-Penetrator LIVE shows with Joanna Angel, Tommy Pistol and Pheonix Askani, where we continued to bleed and vomit all over Chicago for a 2nd week.

Then we went back to NYC and did it again at the SMack Halloween Fetish Ball (the same party we premiered Re-Penetrator LIVE back in 2008).

And finally Halloween arrived and I finished off the month with Jagermeister, doing zombie makeup for their float in the NYC Halloween Parade. We ended the night by joining Joanna Angel for an exclusive performance at the Box with midgets and burlesque and things I shouldn’t mention in public. I will say we spent almost $2000 on booze though. (thanks Joanna!)

Of course, I could not have done all of this alone…where do I begin…thanks so much to all the makeup artists who helped out at the NYC Zombie Crawl and in Chicago including Steve Saturn, Jessica Laskaris, Chrisine Conley, Zee Gustafson and countless others…mad props to Zac Amico and Michelle Crouchelli for helping pull together the XXXorcist set in NY while I was out of town…my cloaked partners in crime Nick Danger and Zafer Ulkucu and the lovely Goddess Shea for helping out the whole month through! And to everyone who supported our madness – Michael Stewart and the Beauty Bar, Arlene’s Grocery and the Contentinal, Tim ‘Gravy’ Brown and the Admiral Theater, Sidney Scarlett, Xris Smack, the Jagermeister folks, Pabst Blue Ribbon, ZombieBooth and all of the Burning Angel crew! And finally my DisGraCeLand Family – it was a tough month but Spliff would be proud.

RIP Brother Spliff – DisGraCeLand mourns

It is with a heavy heart that I say that my dear friend and brother Arwen ’Spliff’ Rosa, the father of DisGraCeLand passed away the morning October 16th after a year and 3 months of fighting his way back from a horrible car accident. I’ve known Spliff since his beginnings with the DisGraCeLand Family Sideshow all the way through to the amazing levels he took it with the Hook Squad and Nassau Chainsaw. He was a dear friend and so much more to hundreds if not thousands of people all over the world, bringing together the Suspension community when everyone else was concerned about rivalries and pettiness, Spliff was able to get everyone to say fuck it and work together like a true family. If you got out of line, he snapped you back into place before you even knew what hit you, but he did it with the utmost respect and love. Spliff has been with the NYC Zombie Crawl from the very beginning and DisGraCeLand has been a part of every event we’ve done. I got the news literally 5 minutes before the Crawl event begun, obviously it devastated everyone but we pulled through and performed for Spliff. All of the raffle proceeds and a portion of the profits and bar tabs will be going towards his funeral fund which is this Saturday. You can donate to the cause and help his family at the paypal link at this website. Please donate, every little bit will help his beautiful wife Jill and daughter Odessa through this trying time. I recently associate produced my pal J.D. Brown’s directorial debut, a short horror movie called ‘The Tap Dancer’ aka ‘T is for Tap Dance’. The movie stars Nick Shellenberger, Tim Cronin, Ariella Cohen, Sarah Mostov and Aria Rae, and was assistant directed by Amy Glickman Brown, shot by Zafer Ulkucu with special effects by me.

The short is entered into the film competition for ‘The ABC’s of Death‘ a cool anthology feature film with 26 short films, each themed around a death related to each letter of the alphabet. The 26th director is for the letter ‘T’, which will be chosen by the submission with the most amount of votes on the website! ‘T is for Tap Dance’ is now on the website and YOU CAN VOTE HERE!! NYC Zombie Crawl Oct 16th – Halloween Edition!

It’s that time of year again, October is upon us and so is Zombie Season! There are a lot of cool events throughout the month that we’re going to be a part of so we’re kicking it off a bit earlier with the main Halloween NYC Zombie Crawl taking place on Sunday, October 16th in Manhattan!

We’re gearing up for the main crawl event this SUNDAY! Pabst Blue Ribbon will be hosting an open PBR bar at the afterparty and a photo booth starting at 8:30pm and we have a new sponsor with an awesome product we’ll be promoting – ZOMBIEBOOTH! It’s an awesome mobile app that turns anyone into a 3D Zombie! We have a funny powerpoint presentation about the Walking Dead and we’ll also be doing the late night HOT ZOMBIE CONTEST again!

It’s all going to start at the Beauty Bar NYC by Union Square (231 E 14th St in Manhattan btwn 2nd and 3rd Ave). from 4pm-6pm with the zombie meet up and makeup. Our zombie makeup technicians will be charging a small fee to create zombies or you can bring out your dead! It’s 21 to drink zombie drink specials or enter the bar, but all ages are welcome to join us for the crawl event at 6pm!

At 6pm the madness begins as we crawl through the East Village. This year we’re honored to have Angelo Moore aka Dr. MaddVibes (also frontman of the legendary Fishbone) as a part of the event! We will be shooting the crawl as part of a new Dr. MaddVibes music video and Dr. MaddVibes will also be performing at the official after party!

The location for the official after-party is ARLENE”S GROCERY (95 Stanton St, New York, NY 10002) and will start at 8:30pm. It’s 21 + and tickets are $10 if you are a zombie, $12 for civilians. Performers include;

Strip for Pain at Rise of the Stripping Dead

I’ll be hosting Strip for Pain as part of the 3rd annual zombie stripper event at the Admiral Theater in Chicago, IL! For 4 nights, October 18-21st the undead will take over Chicago’s hottest strip club with Strip for Pain performances on October 19th and 21st. Also, I will be coordinating all the zombie makeup for the strippers!

This years show promises to be bigger, better and bloodier then ever with performances by international fetish and burlesque acts as well as some of Chicago’s favorite local performers. New additions to this years line-up include fetish model Mosh, suspension burlesque by Miss Crash and Brooklyn based performance artist Narcissister. This year will also see the return of international fetish superstar Masuimi Max and local favorite Maya Sinstress and her tribute to Dead Snow and Killer Klowns From Outer Space. Hey Kids!

It’s been awhile since my last update! We survived the Warped Tour with Punk Rock Holocaust 3 (we’ll be releasing a trailer soon and will have some additional shooting in the next few months) and Paranormal Challenge is still showing on the Travel Channel (the 11th episode airs tonight, Friday Sept 9th, you can see me play a sailor who gets his face burned off by a jet engine!)! We also broke a Guinness World Record with the NYC Zombie Crawl for the most zombies on a roller coaster at Dorney Park! We also shot a short horror movie directed by my pal James Brown to be entered into the ABC’s of Horror! I started shooting some new Post Mortem Pinups! And finally, two feature horror movies I co-produced are going to be finished and ready to screen soon, ‘The Cemetery’ and ‘Cross Bearer’ – just in time for Halloween!! Exciting!

We’re gearing up for an insane October with many cool events including our NYC Zombie Crawl on October 16th – will be announcing details soon but it will be in Manhattan! I’m also going to be hosting a number of events in Chicago towards the end of October, more on that soon!

I’ll have some more specific updates on particular projects in the next few weeks, but in the meantime here are a few videos you can check out -
